Preheat your oven to 400°F. Arrange a wire rack on top of a baking sheet. In a spacious bowl, coat the chicken wings with vegetable oil and season them generously with garlic powder, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Place the seasoned wings on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the wings in the preheated oven until they are golden brown and the skin turns crispy, which should take about 50 to 60 minutes. Make sure to flip the wings halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
While the wings are baking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the hot sauce and honey. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then add the butter. Stir continuously until the butter is fully melted and the sauce is slightly thickened, which should take around 2 minutes.
Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a bowl and toss them thoroughly with the buffalo sauce until every wing is well-coated. Turn on the broiler to low heat. Return the sauced wings to the wire rack and broil them, keeping a close watch, until the sauce caramelizes, which will take about 3 minutes. Serve the buffalo wings hot, accompanied by ranch or blue cheese dressing and a side of carrot and celery sticks.
